Memberi know the importance of it and all that but its never been something ive stuck with
purelly because my brains to small to remember which is which all the time
i use wait as a you wait there while i do what ever it is im doing i.e. picking up poo – while all dogs are on lead or on contacts etc
and i use stay as a you stay there in what ever position it is ive put you in until i tell you to do otherwise ie on an agility course start lineAugust 9, 2008 at 6:56 pm #77557SuzAndTheDiva
MemberNow I know what the difference is.

MemberFritz is better at wait…. ::)
I am rubbish at the visual..
Bev remind me please ;D
is it left hand for wait or right? and is it the palm facing the dog.. like the old fashioned policeman style?

Memberwe dont have a visual – if we do that gets ignored too. Only time she ‘stays’ is when im taking stuff out to car or bringing it in – and then she nearly always self cues that cos I given up telling her ::) she goes to same place peering round a cabinet and sits there looking at front door 😀

Member😮
fritz is super brill at both…prob the best ever young boyo i worked with ….he got the difference so fast when you on hols….
i use right palm close to shoulder for wait at a distance …closer to nose for close work
and left palm out further policeman style for stayand you know that bit out your back…where that paddle pool thing was?
he would do a stay there ….by the seats? …and i would go all the way down to where the path ends as in past the door in …right down to the bottom and then return and he wouldnt move an inch…not even with the kids from above chucking stuff
and his wait in the corridors and at the lift is just magic…
