MemberWhat can I use to stop ear hair from knotting?
Livia has knots that are starting at the skin right behind her ears – where the hair is really soft…
July 8, 2009 at 10:24 pm #73582SuzAndTheDiva
MemberA brush and a comb.
Sorry dont mean that to sound funny but the only thing thats STOPS knots is either NO hair or brushing regular – deep proper down to the skin brushing – and yep that hair there is a complete bitch to keep knot free, having some of it trimmed off will help.

Get the brush and comb out naughty naughty, there is nothing except water that you can put on her coat anyway as all the bottles of crap are banned for use in the showring by the KC

MemberHun your talking to a dog groomer is no such thing as a normal dog comb ;D so what sort? Metal plastic pins that roll or what? wide thin? combs are SO important – got to have the right type though :ok:
You can buy a slicker off me next weekend got some at the shop – and combs 😀
July 9, 2009 at 10:01 pm #73591Izzie

Membertwo lengths as in one long tooth then one short then one long that what you mean? If so then dunno bout Val but i dont like those – will show you a better one 😉
Mind is a miracle if ANY dog owner ends up buying the right comb – pet shop round here sold one of my poodle owners a bristle brush – saying thats just what you need ??? ::)
July 10, 2009 at 7:06 am #73593Izzie
Memberthats the one 🙂
July 10, 2009 at 5:50 pm #73594Val
MemberI so agree I personally dislike combs with handles, Beardie clubs always sell their own as there is nothing that you can buy in the pet shops.
Whenever have you heard of an assistant in a pet shop that knows anything about anything.
