Diesel73
MemberWell, you all know by now what it is that i do. And now for the moment i’m busy with… the boys’ Christmas dinner đ . But for now dinner look likes this.
Here they were 1 day, some 2 days old. And yep  , the ‘wet one’ in the front is a newborn turkeybaby. Only a minute or so old. It got stuck in the egg and i gave it a little help or it would have died.

Want to see and hear what see and hear all day?

This is mambird. Can you see her?

I didn’t until Diesman pointed her out to me. Right in the middle of the Lavander ::) …. Dumb bird. If it rains, the nest will get flood and the youngens can not stand wetness untill they get their fethers. So i had Diesel chase her away (she a good mam, she WILL attack anything coming to close to her little ones.) This is Suzie, one of my best female birds. Produces some of the best youngens.

So to prevent them from a cold and wet death we put them in incubator for little chicks. Close to the light my little ones, it is the best place to be đ .July 18, 2009 at 9:13 pm #99873Diesel73
MemberBy the way, in that incubatorbox there are 11 babyturkies. đ They are all on the the second pic and on the vid. Are you fast enough to count them? Hahaha đ .

MemberAw, that brings back memories. my granda raised turkeys for christmas until a few years ago. He’s in his 70s now and it just got too much, especially when he had to start sleeping at the allotment in the run up to xmas because people wanted to steal the birds >:(

Ahyes ::) . Gave my neighbour 20+ birds once. All of them got stolen >:( . Tiretracks still fresh, but they were gone.
With the crisis now… i expect some of mine to disapear magicaly as well. But if i can catch one.. not have to stand right infront of me. But within ‘range’ is good enough…….. >:D . -
