Whoever wrote this obviously found out how to handle me ::) . (yeah i mean you, you who is reading this with a big grin on face, probably like this; . But you also know i’m a ‘planner’ and plan things way upfront, so it might take another 5 years befor it (what ever it going to be) arrives :tease: )
Anyways……. The sheltie. Not so small, yet lot smaller than my boys. Long haired, lot of energy, need lot of hairmaintenance, etc etc.
BUT;
-can it herd somewhat? yes
-does it like retrieving games?yes
-how is it with moving objects, does it like to chase?yes
-does it like his own voice?yes
-is it easy to train?yes
-how is his will to please, is it like shepherds? it you make it fun they will do as you ask, bribery works :yes:
-are there still shelties around that work?no
-how protective is it towards his familychildren?most not that protective but they LOVE family/kids
-how pure is the breed still? Does the majority of shelties still look the same with the same temperament, or are there many differences?some seem too small now but get from a good breeder
-how high is their energy? do they become destructive or wine when they don’t get enough exercise?can take as much or as little as you want to give them
-do they bond intense? and not like to be left alone? Or are they not so stickersticky?bond well but can be left if trained right
-is it picky when it comes to food?no
– does it have any taste for guarding his territory? If so on scale of 1 to 10 howmuch would you give it?warn but not so much guard
-is it happy to share master’s attention or more mememememe?most happy to share some more pushy
-howmuch does sheltiemale weigh?
-if you got a sheltie, do you regularly step on them?no they are quick on their feet so you aren’t ;D
-would it eat food it not likes but eat it anyway just because you’ve eaten it too?no
-when it is freightened by something, does it seek refuge with you? Or where does he go?depends on the dog
-does it have a strong natural guarding sence towards what he thinks is his ‘personal’ stuff like toys, bed, etc?some do most don’t
-does it like water, showers, baths, rain, mudd?rain/mud yes….. baths in Tam’s case NO
-does it have the same energy indoors as outdoors, or is it more calm in the house than outside?if you let it
-when is it grown up mentaly, by what age?year/eighteen months depends on if it’s a dog or bitch
-is it curious to everything you do?born nosy :yes:
-how is it with strangers? Everybodies friend or has it more reserved nature?Tam everyone’s friend some are more reserved
-does it forget easilier or is it more a ‘once f.cked up, always f.cked up’ dog with a loooooooong memory?fairly forgiving if you make a mistake
-does it like control over others, or is it more of a teamplayer?more teamplayer….. Tam and Bramble cat team up together
