MemberWell done to you both!
Does that mean he’s progressed up a level? And what to the titles CDex and UDex mean?

UD-Utility DogA friend of mine has a WSD x GSD & he is qualified to work ticket in Obedience & has his Obedience Warrant plus he qualified CDEx, UDEx, WDEx at three consecutive Championship Trials & he won each stake as well. He has one qualifier for the TC stake at Championship trials & that two was from his first TD stake. He has onl;y competed at 4 Working Trials & isn’t 4 yet !

MemberExcellent I am trying to think who that is there are not that many GSD X BC in Working Trials, one of the main proponents of the deliberate X breed who has had two GSD x BC made them both up into Working Trial Champions.
There are various levels in Working Trials
CD
UD
WD
TD
PDWorking Dog, Tracking Dog and Patrol Dog.
The WD stake is essentially exactly the same as the UD stake except the age of the track is 1.5 hours old as opposed to 30 mins old and the track has more legs and is usually more complex and the articles are smaller.
TD tracks are 3 hours old, PD tracks are 2 hours old.
Gaining a WD Open is not a qualification in itself but just means you are qualified to enter WD Championship Trials where you hope to get WDex after your dog’s name.
You need 2 x WDexs and 2 x TD Opens to enter TDex competitions.
If you win 2 x TD/PD “tickets” your dog is then a WT Champion.
My Weimaraner has only one ticket unfortunately. 😀
She entered her first trial at 19 months which she won and qualified for ticket in less than 12 months before she was 3!

MemberBrilliant. ;D
So has your weim retired or is she still going for her second ticket? And how old’s the shepherd, and how many more does he need to win to rival her titles? ;D
Though you did lose me somewhere after there are various levels in working trials. 😉

MemberShe will be 8 in a couple of weeks so she may retire this year I am not sure.
He is 3 and he will not be doing everything I did with the Weim because there is not so much to “prove” with a GSD! 😉
We shall be sticking to Working Trials and Schutzhund only.

GuestDoh my brain is a bit befuddled today Kash has been to 4 Championship trials & three open trials(where he got his qualifiers for WD & his TD)He was in Novice @ the being of 2002 & at the end he was C only & Ticket qualified & got his CD Ex at the only trial he went to that winter. He won a total of 9 B’s in obedience !
He’s not an obvious GSD x WSD, in fact many people think he is a GSD & it wasn’t a deliberate breeding
