Suz, would you fancy doing Barnaby, the little black cocker, that my friend has, not sure when she wants him done but it wont be long he’s six months in june so she’ll be able to start showing him. She took Max the other one to the place near us and i think they used clippers on him, I’ve been told once you’ve done that they cant be shown, and she wants to give it a go see how he gets on, told her you were Portsmouth way, but its not that far and we’d come to you. 🙂

Sticking my nose in here as I do when the coat on the older dog has grown out she could show him again but to be honest she should learn how strip for herself groomers that can turn out a showdog are far and few between cannot the breeder show her?

What a breed to have with arthritis does she live near her breeder? no I don’t do home visits in fact it’s been a few years since i played with a show cocker  ::) what she needs to do is get the breeder to set the body pattern and then she could have a daily or even weekly pick at the coat to keep the shape, he would still need a bath before showing so the coat flows.
They are not really a breed I have a great interest in so I don’t tend to follow the coat styles.
I really just prefer a coated dog without all the dam stripping, for a laugh find the beardies on Sunday they will be brushing like mad LOL so will those paps all the paps will be shimmering white with polished colour

she doesnt live near the breeder, other end of country, I know someone who has their border collie groomed for showing in Ash, which isnt far, maybe I’ll find out if she’d do him.
Also I could ask a few cocker showers tomorrow or sunday if they know of any good groomers nearby 🙂

    thanks x
