Hi,

The only RC classes I know of around here breed specific (GSD + FCR) but …

NORTHANTS & BEDFORDSHIRE WORKING TRIALS DOG TRAINING SOCIETY

looks interesting . . . i wonder what training they do (yeah obviously WT) but i dont really know what it involves?  is it really for weimeraners and pointers tho because isnt this what sweetypye’s dogs do ?  would they even let a lurcher in – then we have the next bl**dy hurdle … will they let unvaccinated dogs in, and is their training any good ?

Mudgie – haha … miss clever pants – there are no psychology services in our CMHT any longer.  they got rid of them all 😀  most of the cbt etc… type courses are held by OT now.  I’ve been on them all before and its a pain getting there plus i have to get childcare – same with psychiatric appointments. 

I’ve been to dark places, sorted the “cause” out i’m just left with the “effect” as it were.

and as for working trials – eh ask  ;D  maybe if you go and experience it without pooch you can ask the questions and make an informed decision  😉

Let us know what happens if you do join a training club , I don’t think you will have a problem with breeds from what I know most clubs take any breed and are always up for a challenge . I go to club matches for show dogs once a month on top of ring craft, the matches are like mini shows and you can win rosettes, and I have seen a cross breed take best puppy lol, so just go for it, its all about fun at the end of the day and being with other dog mad people who understand our madness lol any dog club you can get to is worth going to . You will have a great time 🙂

am i being too picky to not go to a club because a trainer has had a litter of “designer dogs” and i dont agree with it ??  (F1 cross aswell)

not sure if it is actually relevent but their apdt logo is wrong. (caninecoaching website) when i passed my assessment and got my number we were told if we wanted to use the logo (for advertising), it had to be the official one and if we said we were members of the apdt we had to make sure we put our membership number down so people know we are actually members  :-\

hi – that sounds right about the logo alot of places only like you to use their prepared ones, i also find it odd that theres no-one on the northants apdt list who lives that close to Denton ??

i just find it wierd that theres  no name or number ….

I’m right (i think) yours is the one i reccommend to everyone, i would love to come – i just read there is some weekend training, is there still any running coz the website dont say?

unfortunatly not, we are in the middle of our training classes (evening) at the moment which lead us up to mid nov time. then we are not running anything else til Jan. however in the new year when we start up again we may well have some weekend workshops so keep an eye on website. they are good fun. i’m just trying to think of others local, although i guess u know them already. derdrie long has just started up on monday nights in moulton. dont know anything about her training wise as have only ever met her briefly, seems a nice lady.
moulton col also do saturday courses, might be worth a look?

well claire – believe me you are managing a hell of a lot more than i am – be proud of what you are doing.  :agree: Someone with no arms learns how to draw with their toes… is good.  😉 see what i mean? i can’t see that i will ever have what you have – partner and child – a pipe dream.

you can’t spend all of your time with harry – it’s not good for him either – he’s at an age where he needs to start spending a bit of time apart – you do a lot more for and spend a lot more time with him than many parents do with their children. you cannot achieve prefection – no-one can. what you are doing sounds like the right balance.

docs have just put me on different meds for anxiety – making me feel like  :death: not warmed up – but if they actually work and stop doing that will let you know and then you can go and demand them.  😀

mudge – i have had cbt – it was crap.  🙁 but then nothing works for me so don’t listen to me claire.  ;D
