Thats kinda his pant, he doesnt stick his tongue out just goes around with his mouth open.  He’d just had a funny 5 mins hence the lead  😀

Little gloat, I know its only early days, but I decided we needed some outdoors out-of-the-garden recall practise.

Cos Im a tightwad, I just used some blue polypropelene rope as a training line and braved it. When he did eventually leave my feet and explore, everytime I called him back, even if he was sniffing something or saw a dog in the distance he came bounding back  ;D

Got a few strange looks with this pup trailing a blue rope behind him, but I dont care I was really chuffed  probably got the chance to recall him about 15 times and he came back everytime.

I have a quick question for anyone, on getting him to leave my side, sometimes I throw the tennis ball, he runs to it, but then recalls himself (without the tennis ball), I then start calling him so he hopefully connects it more with being called, but Im not sure if he’ll see it as being rewared for not bringing the ball back or for coming back when called – if that makes any sense at all  ???

Without the ball if he goes off sniffing and I call him back he still recalls everytime.
