Memberwasting your money jayne – honest 🙂
September 12, 2006 at 1:10 pm #101245I know Bev, but it’s for my own piece of mind and I really need to know if it is KC ‘cos I’m gonna have to arrange sitters if he can’t go out ‘cos he’ll trash the house if he’s housebound. A BC with pent up energy, not good !! ::)

Memberbut the point is jayne the vet wont be able to tell you until symptoms are in place and will say keep him in 🙂

GuestIf you seriously believe he has this the last place you should be taking him is to a vets surgery. What if there are old, frail and really ill pooches there. If it is kennel cough then it would have a terrible affect on them. 🙁
He is fit and healthy. ;D with perhaps the cold.
If you stimulate his mind indoors – play hide and seek and stuff there is stickys on freeshaping. He will not need to go outside.. If you have ever had a housebound weimar you will know what a challenge that is.
Leave it a few days. It won’t change the prognosis.
September 12, 2006 at 1:32 pm #101248As I told Rough in another post I am fully aware of the risks of taking him to the vets which is why we are waiting in the car ’til we’re called in probably through the back of the surgery. I know the risks on the young and the old which is why I am taking him to the vets to make sure if he has got it or not. For my own piece of mind I want him checking over anyway regardless of KC or no KC.
Leaving him things out to play with etc… only works for a limited period of time with him if he’s left alone, which is why I would need sitters ‘cos we’ll be at work or I’ll have to take unapid leave to keep him occupied. He has at least 2 hours of running and walking everyday, morning and night – how do you think he’s gonna cope with being housebound for days, I can tell you not very well at all.

September 13, 2006 at 3:59 pm #101253Oh no he’s not, still as manic as ever and eating like his usual picky self and shoving a tennis ball between my knees at every opportunity ::) Not even heard him ‘hack’ since the vet had his windpipe in a vice grip LOL
