MemberOh goodness I guess they are from the same litter – how exciting!
No1 we didn’t get him from a breeder but bought him from someone that wanted a better life for him as they lived in a small house, both went to work and had 2 small children. I must admit they really did look after him well as he has settled in so well in just one week. Although I go out to work most mornings I am back at lunchtime and have been leaving him for small amounts of time this week just to get him used to everything. He hasn’t nibbled, chewed – apart from chewbones, and no messy’s either – such a sweetie!
We live in a small village with endless country walks just on the doorstep so I’m hoping he feels he has fallen on his feet.
I gather that the people that had Arnie before had only had him for 6 weeks. Such a shame to re-home him at such a young age but I guess they felt they were doing him a favour. I have worked out that Arnie was with the breeder up to when he was 19 wks old – this may have been because he has a bottom eyelid growing inwards and his eye weeps for most of the day. I suspect that was why he wasn’t one of the first ones to go. Anyway we have got it checked out and will be seeing an ophthalmic vetenary specialist in the very near future to sort this out for him. It must be so uncomfortable for him. Perhaps Richard may remember him from the litter. He was born on 19/3/08 so if Juno has the same birthday they are bro and sis! It’s such a coincidence.
Would be great to hear from him and chat about our young weims!
Will try and update you with pictures of Arnie soon. :-X

MemberOMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! it was the 19/03/08!!!!!!!! and Juno has the same eyelid problem, would LOVE to chat some more about are dogs!!! where abouts do you live? we are in Stoke. the breeder in all honesty wasnt very nice and she said the little boy was a monster but he sounds like a little angel to me. our Juno is a chewer!!! its calmed down a lot now tho walking them to death is the key! ;D
for the others who have followed and helped this thread from the start here is a little update –
we can now leave them together happily when we go out and all they do is play, we have slowly introduced toys and dictate when they can and cant have them e.g. when the play gets out of hand the toy is taken away and given back when they have calmed down. still working on the walk situation this is proving to still be difficult but we are getting there!!! it is now a joy to have them both and not a worry :butt: thank you once again we couldnt have done it without you!!!

MemberWe are based on the Northamptonshire/Warwickshire border so quite a way from Stoke. I still can’t believe this is such a coincidence that I have located Arnie’s sister. I have tried to upload some photos of Arnie so you can see how much like Juno he is.
How is her eye? Arnie’s seems to weep most of the day but more so in sunny weather and at night. The vet has given me some cream for it which will help and suggests that we get it operated on as soon as we can. We have got a quote from one vet of £800 but am looking for a cheaper vet that can operate and do just a good a job. We obviously want the best for Arnie but after paying for him, injections which the previous owner didn’t keep up with, getting him chipped and wormed and buying cleaner for his ears its left us a little short. Will let you know how I get on with another vet who I am going to see Monday pm.

Memberbe money well spent – you dont mess around with eyes, cheap vet could do a crap job – and you will pay more than £800 to get it fixed.
hes a cutie though 🙂

GuestThink your vet should have pointed out that Entropia is a painful condition that leads to eye ulcers and can cause blindness.

Priority is to get get it done asap rather than getting ‘quotes’ for it.September 22, 2008 at 1:48 am #67833RichardD
Memberoh wow he is the double of her!!!! her eyes are soooooo gooey all the time but the vet has said if we operate now before her face grows she could end up with eyes like a blood hound, if you know what i mean. we regularly take her in for check ups on it but i just dont think its getting any better. juno and arnie must have been the last 2 left!!! poor things, is he very big? Juno didnt have any injections either and had not been wormed or flead. we got her from the breeder and she lived in Derby. oh i cant get over that u found us, Juno is just the most loving dog in the world!!! she ADORES food too, getting juno was the best thing i ever did her and my other wiemy Oscar get on so well together now and i love watching them run when out on walks. when we first got juno she was a little tubby, was yours? i really like the name arnie too. she can be a monkey tho she has eaten a big hole in my kitchen wall 🙁 but we wanted to knock that wall through anyway so no big deal! ::) do you think they would know each other? here are some more pictures….
