£££££££ or if what Richard has said about Juno being one of seven, sounds like the woman was the breeder.

My girlfriend said they were living in a tip with rubbish and food just on the floor. Poor little Juno.

Also at night times oscar sleeps in the bedroom with us on his bed. Last night we put Juno in the kitchen in her bed and she moaned for about 20 mins then went asleep. Is this alright as far as sleeping arangements go?

Also to moonbeam, please dont apologise, im just glad for any advice.
Im just really worried they aren’t going to get on.
My girlfriends thinking was to give oscar company in the day if we’re out.

I’ve just taken on Caleb a nearly 6 month old pup dumped on rescue by a breeder who couldn’t sell him.

Solli,  11½ year old, is great with him, grumbling if pup gets a little too much (using him for a chew toy results in a big growl and a back pedalling pup) but will play for a short time when it suits him.

Whisper, coming up for 8 years, was absolutely petrified the first 10 days or so, resulting with me having mild concussion after he knocked me flying in his haste to get away from the pup.  Whisper doesn’t growl, he wrinkles his nose, bares his teeth as his mouth opens to snap.  Caleb got a tiny nip on the nose when he pushed too far and didn’t recognise the warning sighs … Whisper got a ‘good boy, that’s enough’ so that he knew it was okay to tell pup off and since then things have settled down well.

Guess after all that waffle, what I’m trying to say is try to remain calm and let them sort it out between themselves. Oscar will pick up on your vibes and if you are calm he will see there is nothing to worry about.

Juno might take a while to settle into your routine but persistence will pay off – Caleb also sleeps in the kitchen, the first week or so he slept with the radio on low and after a little groaning while he got himself comfy there’s no sound until I come downstairs in the morning.
Solli and Whisper sleep on the landing.

Its her ‘posh’ name, her kennel name, most reputable breeders have an affix(kennel name as its now called), something like Bluemoon for example, so pups would be called Bluemoon Juno’s Dream, then another would be Bluemoon Daydreamer and so on, check out her dam & sire too what are their names, all this tells you her history, where she come from etc 🙂
ooooo and when you get home can we have a piccie please ;D

Thanks Moonbeam you’e made me feel loads better. Juno sounds like whisper as in she too doesn’t growl but wrinkles her noise then opens her mouth to snap. 🙂 I wanted them ideally to sleep next to each other but if its going to work out this way ie Juno in the kitchen, oscar in the bedroom then thats fine.
Your right i do have to calm down and stop being so nervous, its just oscar is over her all the time and like i said in my previous post want her to snap at him and him to bite her.
So do you think she’ll end up being the more dominant, if so is it better for him of her to be the more dominant.

Jaydex, thanks for the info!!  🙂 When i get in i’ll post her details and a picture.

the first two weeks bringing new dog into your pack (which isnt established enough at the moment) is the time when the new dog will be quieter than usual especially pupster.  New place, new people, new pack, new smells – you have to give these dogs 100% at the moment because if you dont you are setting yourself up for a whole load of trouble.  :-\  You dont know what is being “said” between the two dogs – you dont know their behaviour well enough for that.  If you chastise one you could be reinforcing the other who is in the wrong.  Read everything on the board you can but put it into practice.  :-\  Reading is easy, managing stuff becomes a bit trickier.  If you get this right now and are consistent with it then it will be much much easier in the long term.  😉

At the moment you want these dogs to be skipping together up a staircase.  Take it one step at a time – in the dogs time – not yours. And none of this is about dominance is about one dog taking the lead and the other being happy to follow that lead.  Its about knowing their place and accepting their place in the pack.

You can call time out if either dog is getting too much for the other.

Caleb is finding his feet and is a bit like a snapping turtle (adult teeth settling in) just now – everything has to go in his mouth. He’s wanting to play all the time when he’s with the others but I make sure he doesn’t get too wound up.  He has playtime and then has to learn ‘settle’  so I either pop him in a crate or have him on a lead at my feet.  Either way he gets a reward (could be a treat or stroking) for calm behaviour.

So if Oscars getting to excited over Juno ie jumping all over her and trying to sit on her should i put him in his bed or should i take her away from the situation.

I really do appreciate all the advice. Its making me feel alot better about the situation ive been thrown into. Its ok for my girlfriend because she’s an cabin crew for BA which means she’s away alot so im having to do all this on my own.

dont remove either of them from the situation  😉  Look at the wall and shout that’s enough – dont say any names or look at any of them  😉

Nice of your girlfriend to land you in it and fly off into sunset  ::)

good thing is that the doggies will look to you as leader  ;D  best job in the world being pack leader  ;D

Hey, yeah i’ll have to get another kong. Ive just taken the toys out of the main rooms. Juno’s got her toys in the kitchen with her bed and oscars got his toys with his bed in the hallway. Both the kitchen and hallway have dog gates so they’ve both got there own space.

Ive just looked at the Pedigree and her affix is Star Shadow. The sire is Sh Ch Gunalt Rumours about Sybaris and the dam is Divine power through Millie. Its got up to the Gt Gt Grandparents.
Ive just got to fill out the transfer of registration form.

Since ive got in they’ve been really good together, play fighting but both wagging there tales and on there backs.  🙂 but oscar dig accidentally tread on her and she yelped. He immediatley new he’d done wrong because he just sat down straight away then walked over to her licked her face, then lay down.

Here’s some photo’s of, there not very good i can’t her still long enough  🙂
