    hi,

nope – i think what they said was true.  you’ve already got alot of management and focus going on there – much more than the average “bought a pup and got bored” person does 😉

its been a few days since my last post, so an update.

as you know, he had been crated even if they went upstairs. i havent done that but have crated overnight and when i work. yesterday i came back and he had pulled the cover in and chewed it. i had left him with a kong and his wubba, never mind. it was my fault as i had last left him with a kong and a nylabone, which went through the wire and he must have got frustrated and resorted to the cover to chew. must prefer it ::)

his heal work is improving (i tell myself) and freeshape left/right i am putting on cue. though he is so adamant that he knows what hes doing that hes not looking, he gets the treat and bounds back over to the mat.

i have been having trouble with the wait at door when the bell goes. i shut the door firmly at any movement but when the person starts to come in he breaks and i cant slam the door, i would knock them out!! should i shove them out the door and start again?

he is rough with his teeth/ snatching treats if given from the hand.

because ‘he ate so fast’ his bowl was taken from him mid mouthful and nice things forcibly taken from his mouth to ‘teach him’. he does yours mine very good with a cihcken wing but anything i give him he wont give up, moves out of reach. hes getting the idea of dead with other things, as soon as he knows ive got a treat, he spits it out but food is too higher prize to give up.

we had another walk today, different place.  hes so not fit, he walked alot of it . had a quick loon and trotted a bit. i didnt know it but they had moved sheep into the field by the track, they are not obvious but as we were beside them he noticed. leave did the trick, but they used to dog walkers so didnt bother. good to practice with i think. the footpath can go through the field so thats something else i can do,later.

it is inevitable (and needed) that we meet a dog soon. there is a rec near here that is dogs on lead only, everywhere else will be bump into by accident. theres no parks. really not sure how to handle any scenario.

my brother is coming for the w/end. it will be interesting how Max reacts to a male, and how my brother is with Max. hes the wind em up lets play, whats wrong with this dog hes mad kind of guy. :boooo:

    thats my news

went up to the rec this morning. quick leg stretch for most dogs. new and exciting road for him and then loads of grraaasss! no-one around so i let him off. youre supposed to keep them on lead.

a woman appeared and he went bounding up to her and she ignored tutting  but he left her and came back to me. dogs in the distance, he went to go but looked unsure so i whistled him and he turned immediately back, almost relieved that i called him!

heal work on grass pretty pants but i expected that. walk back was great (he was tired lol)

i really need some dogs on leads so i can practice ‘greet nice’, but alot of people round here pull there dogs away when they see another one. shame.
