Poms suffer in the heat because of the excessive furA well groomed coat will insulate against the heat in exactly the same way that it insulates against the cold. Unless taken to the tropics, Poms should have no problem in European heat if they are not left in the sun.
[/quote]Yes, I know this, and I intend to keep a fan on him, my sisters Pom loved the have the fan blown on him in the warm months.

GuestI really hate this sort of attitude sorry It’s a dog some come big some come small but they are all dogs, as for all the fuss about heat rubbish is what I call it, I have a breed with more coat that the one you are getting and a flat face and it has to be really hot for me to turn on a fan.
I live on the south coast where we get more than the UK average sun haven’t had a small dog knocked by the heat yet and I have owned the breed for the wrong side of forty years.
I show them and sometimes that can be in the midday sun they have all survived yes they may sit on an ice pack in the car but none have been wrapped in cotton wool and some of mine have cost a small fortune to buy so you are not on your own there.
I would not walk them in the midday sun but they are fine you are making to much out of his size
Valhow can this be good for little toy breeds

But back to the food – chicken wings are fine – any part of it – they are not sharp when raw, its only when cooked they become brittle and sharp.

Memberam having a go at making the meat porridge today… am in a cooking mood….
Chicken is boiling away nicely – almost done…
quick question – there’s a lot of water in the pan… do I keep all of the stock and add pasta etc and drain when done or just use some ?Also bought a new blender today – old crappy one lost the lid down the back of the fridge 😉 new one is fab ;D made lots of veggie mix for his teas ;D

MemberI keep it all, but i use rice so it soaks it all up. I would boil the pasta (you need a lot of liquid for pasta) in it all then see if theres lots left after then take some out if needed 🙂

I made a porridge with a turkey drumstick the other day – got 5 meals of it – only cost 90p – so was well chuffed with that! ;D
