My mum made a load o fthis for Buster the other day – she ‘forgot’ the chicken was boiling away – when she remembered to take it out the water it was so well cooked the whole thing fell apart ::)
Christine love that last pic of Fritz – hope you gave him some chicken waiting so patiently ;D BUT he needs his ears trimming 😀

MemberI got a nice big lamb breast for Jake today will it be ok if I use it today as I just got it today & it’s fresh or does it definitely have to be frozen?
August 7, 2007 at 4:23 pm #92184xtine
Memberi think always has to be frozen doesn’t it?
August 7, 2007 at 4:27 pm #92185.colliecrazy.
MemberThat’s what I was thinking but I was told by the butcher it could be used fresh as long as I used it today.
Figured it was best to check in here first with the high & mighties 😉

MemberFreeze it first – I’d give it a good 24 hours in the freezer 🙂

MemberHaha I’ve never seen Jake so excited about any food until we started feeding raw, so thanks Foxy :-* & thanks Bev for all the info I’ve absorbed from here! :-*
Is anybody else tempted to taste the food when you’re cooking or is it just me? 😀
I’m a vegetarian & find the smell of cooked lamb hearts/beef/chicken etc rather lovely :-XAugust 7, 2007 at 6:28 pm #92190xtine
Memberyeah! I tried the lambs hearts the other week… and this porridge is good enough to eat.. smells like my grandads homemade soup – just needs some seasoning and pearl barley 😉
August 7, 2007 at 6:55 pm #92191.colliecrazy.
MemberOh good I thought I was turning into some sort of freak 😉
I was so tempted to eat a piece of the lamb heart but my mum was hovering the entire time so I couldn’t! Really looking forward to making his porridge tomorrow!

..add either barley, lentils or oats or a combination and cook all out..
[/quote]Any barley or does it have to specific? Only barley with have is pearl.. And is that ok to use as a veggie substitute in dinner meals?
