That is a Kennel Club statement that Claire has quoted. See here.
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/388As I understand it Claire is saying the KC are coming across as very pro-vaccination. CHC is recognised as a KC course provider but are anti-vaccination.
Yes, the KC come across as very pro-vaccs, but that doesn’t mean that KCABs *have* to vaccinate. So I’m gonna mail them, and ask. As for CHC…..why have they *anything* to do with the KC when they (CHC) are so anti-vaccs?
What, exactly, is a KC course provider please?

hi,i thought it had been changed so they had to vacc – my apologies if this isnt the case.
there were doubts that people would buy unvaccinated pups expressed by the breeders at CHC so in effect i guess many of them will have to anyway.
claire.
Breeders who are members of CHC are worried about people not buying unvaccinated pups??? Why are they members of CHC??? :surprise: Where are there principles???? ???

GuestDree – you dont have to be a CHC member to go on courses 😉
no idea what a KC course provider is but it certainly implies the KC support the qualification ……
Oh, I’m sorry. :embarrass: I thought you meant CHC members were concerned that no-one would buy their pups. ::) Actually, a lot of breeders sell their pups unvaccinated. All of our dogs here that we bought were sold unvaccinated…..we asked specifically if we could have them unvaccinated, and none of them had a problem with that.
if you read my posts ::) you will find that i posted a link to what KCAB “have” to do – and that is provide written details of immunisation status (or words to that effect – I have not quoted exactly from my reference). it is a kennel club link and is written in black and white, but by all means email them if you don’t believe the information they provide on their website.
and i have no idea of links between CHC and KC or what a kennel club course provider is – i was merely clarifying claire’s post as you seemed to be struggling with it. 🙂
I didn’t say I don’t believe the KC’s information. What I’m saying is that it is open to interpretation. This is what they say on their site:-
“Provide a written record, in the Puppy Sales Wallet, on the immunisation measures taken.”
If I was a breeder, I would state that my puppies are unvaccinated due to the fact that most vaccination procedures are unnecessary and lead to immune disease, etc.
why? ???
I want the KC to clarify if a KCAB *has* to vaccinate. (And, if so, make them aware of the fact that many breeders actually don’t want to, and not all puppy owners want their pups vaccinated.) And I want to find out what a course provider is…..because if the KC are so pro-vaccs, why are the CHC having anything to do with them?

GuestYou do like to rock boats :read: if you looked on the KC site you can find all the information you are asking this is the lass you mail if you have any questions accreditation.scheme@thekennelclub.org.uk
The KC do not care one way or the other about vaccinations they just ask for AB to state ie chemical homeopathy or none
Easy really if you read it
And Yes this course adds points to becoming an accredited instructor in whatever you wish to take part in different levels are subject to higher numbers of point

GuestHi,
i read it and got a very clear sense they push chemical as an organisation and as such i would have thought their courses would have reflected their organisational aims – thats all.
