Give it a chance Rome was not built in a day or even two.
Mucus is produced by the colon to help make pooing easier, it can also be made by secondary infections like intestinal parasites.
If you think what panacur is capable of killing then the lad is going to have a bit of a tum until it all settles down Gardia is a nasty bug.
Are you still feeding him on chicken ? chicken makes my girls poo’s a bit loose and the beardies are no good on a lot of rice so maybe you should get his diet back to normal

he is still being fed on chicken, the thing is that i tried him with a bit of red meat a few weeks ago and he had bad runny tum so i dont want to set him off again by putting him back on his old food or should i introduce something light like lamb or give him a few of his biscuits with the chicken

i understand that gardia is nasty but i didnt know that the colon produces mucus natuarly anyway so that was why i got a bit miffed this morning :-\ but i am here to learn so learn i am doing ;D

Cor you do like going the whole way LOL no red meat how about trying porridge oats they have carbs and soluble fibre so they release energy slowly the fibre will help his digestion, they also contain loads of vitamins and minerals including calcium, zinc, iron, etc etc
They are cheap to buy so won’t dent your budget, you can damp them cook them or throw them in a bowl dry  ;D in days gone by  ::) we used to use them to bind a runny tum just used to put a handleful straight from the bag in with the food you can put in it a bit of fish or chicken but cut down on the chicken you can throw an egg in if he likes them, or yogurt, thats how my pekes like them, oats yogurt and fruit yummy a favourite

can i give him a pre and a pro biotic in the morn as well as at night or does it have to be one doce a day of pre and pro?

Has he got webbed feet yet  ::) think we all have over here.
Give him a Kong but I would be a bit more inventive than PB if his gut is still dodgy I would shove bits into a jacket potato and whack that in just incase
