diesel….when hollie had pee problems with age we used the puppy type pads…helps to keep the urine off the fur and skin a bit and saved the heavy bedding being washed all the time….

phycicaly  ::) ….. well, he still wobbly. legs the first to go when he wants to walk ànd look up at something or someone. And most times when he is standing up and looking at you he tilts his head to the left. And when he had a sleep and gets up and walks he has to ‘compensate’ cause his feet seem to send him to the left instead of right or straight ahead. Strangly, he does this not if he is telling Diesel off  ??? .

Oh and my wife has tought him something new  ::) . To shiver  at will. Everytime she shows her face he starts to shiver like asif he is rrrrealy cold. She out of sight? He stops, she insight, he’ll ask for attention. She looks him in the eye==> he shivering. Today she said; ‘watch what happens…’ walked into the garden, called him, sat down and said ‘poor boy, where is my poor boy who shivers all the time and needs mamy?’………. instantly he started shivering  ::) . If she keeps smothering him with attention and petting and ‘sweety words’, he does it so hard you can hear his teeth clap  😛 .

You should see him  :suspious: , you’d swear he was a badly mistreated dog  ::)  .

Ah, i did not think of that. We do not have puppy pads, but we do have those for todler’s beds. Didn’t think of that…
For 2 days now he not don’ anything in the livingroom at night, not wetted himself either, but… it summertime. We outside until 22.00-22.30. And first thing in the morning is picking him up and putting him outside.
I know the hardest will be the winters if he can not learn how to walk stairs anymore. Sunshine can not pick him up. He weighs more than half her weight.  :-\ And with his old bones i do not want to leave him outside laying down in the cold a big part of the day.

Ah Falkor……. i wonder what you and Wodan would talk about  😀 .

Diesel we always found with Buster the more he ‘thought’ about moving the worse it was – if he just did it wasnt so bad  :-*

Forgot something….

he eats raw again, minced and no bone-interest yet but raw never the less  ;D . Had to convince him like when he was a puppy and i offered him something new. (means pick a piece, chew on it, spit it out, will smell it, and if it smells like you than i’ll eat it  ::) )
Trust me one this one……Raw tripe tastes like it smells folks  :vomit:

[/quote]Yeah Suz, that’s it! When he is distracted by something he hardly wobbles. Well, almost not at all. But when he is thinking of where he wants to go, than yes, it is worse  :yes: .

Yep even now if he wants to jump on sofa ( and yeah i know he shouldnt but what the hell!)if he just does it he lands it nearly every time- gives it some thought and well its like a train crash infact we have to intervene if you see him thinking about jumping!

Yes, it IS grose, as grose as it smells, as grose at it looks, and as grose as you think it tastes when you never tasted it yet  😛 .

But i noticed his taste was shifting. Stuff he loved befor sunday he didn’t eat anymore. But 2 days ago he wanted something he like befor again after. So i tried tripe. He always was nuts about tripe. He now still refuses to eat anything that’s got a pinch of liver in it. So i wanted him back on the tripe for strenght, ànd thought, since tripe smells so bad it might hide the liversmell. For days he not wanted anything else than muscle tissuemeat. No bone, no nothing, just minced muscle tissuemeat and cooked.
But he needed to take his meds. And he would only take them if they were hidden in a slice of salami. But i eat a lot of salami too……
2 days ago….. everytime i offered him food he refused anything else than the minced cooked meat. Than i remembered…… when he -dies did that too by the way- was little puppy, and i offered him food, he always smeld and licked my face. If i ate it he would too. If i didn’t he didn’t want it.  Tripe was the only thing he ate all by himself. But now he eats it with great taste again. (still is yuk when i think back of that little piece though. It was in mouth and spit out again in a second  :vomit: . Disappeard again but this time in his mouth in nanosecond)

I KNEW IT!  :suspious: I kneeeeew he was faking it.. First time i saw him do that i thought something was wrong with him  :scared: . Well, something wrong again  :-\ . But sunshine kept petting him and smiling and didn’t seem to be worried. At all  ??? . She said, noooo, he’ll stop in a moment, he just cold.

How can he be cold  ??? , it 32+ degrees out there . Today he did it again when the sun was on his highest strength. And the ‘moments’ of shivering start now as soon as she looks him in the eye. When she sits down and hugs him it gets even worse. He lays himself flat down goes ‘hurrrhurrr’ lifts his paws and shivers till his teeth clapper and ears flapper. Than he sits back up and rubs his throat all over sunshines face. Than he cleans her ears and nibbles on her hair in her neck and drops to the floor again.
Jaaaalous  😀  , his ear licking, face washing and neckhairnibbling used to be exclusively mine  😛 .

Oow, you got a good point there  :suspious: … if it IS oneday real, than how do i know….

Will have to practice my plea. She’ll be in;heisminenow ‘battlestations’ mode. Since the 3 days my mother in law took care of him and we were not there,  he wants attentionattentionattention. He greats her all the time even if she has not left the house at all, but just been in another room.
He became  puppylike all over again.

The first week when he had the stroke, he let Dies take care of most things. Even barking at bad weather, barking at the door bell, greating at the front door, going out with me first and Wodan not at all cause he could walk that far… all Diesel.
But since thuesday Wodan got that ‘rivalry tast’ back.

What amazes me is that Diesel just takes the backseat again. For now perhaps, but i didn’t think he would, i dind’t think Diesel would give up his firstplace he craved so hard. And having it for a week.

If Dies wanted too….. Wodan would not be a match anymore. Yet Diesel does not.He could easily steal Wodan’s food, outrun him when he provoces him, take him on if dies wanted too. But he doesn’t.

Instead  ???…..
He lets Wodan tell him off. He even moves slower so wodan can still launch at him and pull out a piece of his hair. Diesel is even a lot calmer with Wodan than he normally is.  ???
