MemberCheers Iz and everyone. They are currently seeking advice from Liverpool Uni, will know more later. The sickness and runs they aren’t classing as a symptom though as its only just started. He’s not had any all day yesterday or today and is eating now.
I can’t thank everyone enough, he’s our special lad

then the scan would have shown the disc bulging…herniating…
[/quote]Scan showed none of the above, ifact on last Mondays checkup he showed hardly any discomfort, had the scan Wednesday and had the second screaming fit Thursday night till we got him in the early hours, that was after just taking tramadol and diazepam

Memberhi and welcome
sorry you having worries hun..ok….if the say the discs are dehydrated then there will be herniating somewhere…a bulge…that presses on the nerve…
so my question would be…how did the ‘measure’ diagnose dehydration in the disc(s)?December 20, 2011 at 1:58 pm #88639kizkiznobite
Memberalso
some vids would be good…of him walking…getting up and down…you squatting a filming thro the legs from the front and back…lets look at his overall conformity…

MemberThats my point Izzie said ex-ray and scan I said MRI if he had disc problems it would show as he has had an MRI and nothing shows we are on the wrong path would be interesting to see side and front and back standing and him moving would be good we don’t want much :ok: but we can tell you loads vets are not good on conformation they know all the bits but not the dog as a whole.
Bye the way Welcome Fuddles

Memberexactly val…we on the same track as ever…those 100 plus years lol
as far as i am aware…unless there is some new techo stuff…on a scan like that dehydration is only shown by its effects…as in that bulge…herniating….now…i may well be 3 yeats out of date…but i lost my bestest ever dog to a genetic spinal prob…and i researched…learnt …googled…asked numerous specialists questions….spent 4 months looking for a way to save her…and yep i may be out of date a bit…but…dehydration shows on a scan of that type….. soagain…how did the vet diagnose dehydration of the verts…

MemberA wee update, months on.
Laddo is doing really well. On antib’s and Lactolose for the rest of his life and a special liver diet and hopefully control it like that. If not surgery but don’t what to think of that route yet.
He’s had no further episodes, just a wee pant do the other day but that was after 2 weeks on a normal diet (we were told to switch him back ) and his bloods (which I insisted they took at his 3 month check up that same day) came back higher in protein and liver enzymes than they were previously. So we have switched him back to his prescription food and will re check bloods in a month.
He is sooooo chilled now and relaxed with other dogs and plays so well now.
So wathc this space and I’ll let you know how he goes one, any other advice would be appreciated though.
