No Suz any age young dogs usually die quickly the trials were set at five as this is the age that mature males start to show problems in some cases like Dex he has the problem but is well.
Long may it stay that way.

Memberpossibly an american site if it was one of my links.
gsps can get type 2 von willebrands – think they test in america but not over here – as think it so rare there aren’t cases over here. still might be worth while testing though – as presumably will be present in low frequency in population unless they are completely genetically separate. ???
but think it may be due to different genetic disease prevalence due to different populations in different countries so it may not be a problem over here. if you see what i’m saying? brain scrambled tonight…. :-\

In plain English do you mean different blood lines in other countries, and with American Shelties whole different breed ;D >:D

GuestThats a very flimsy health page
‘A number of breeders are now getting their breeding stock hip scored’
Beardies can’t be advertised with the club unless they have been hip scored, bet there are not many shelties that are scored.
Took the roughs enough years to say hallo we have a problem that was caused by at least two over used well known studs, that and temperament was why I gave them up.
It’s not common in Shelties lassie Rough would know how common
