Oh right, but she not talking about Eris she talking about a friends Dobe, they dont test GSD’s for VWD do they?
[/quote]it’s mentioned on the list of diseases gsds are prone to on here.
http://www.german-shepherd-rescue-scotland.org.uk/GSD_health.htm
it would appear there is no DNA test available, only blood testing.

GuestDNA testing through the kennel club is for identification only, and used to verify the parentage of a dog, testing for specific diseases is done seperatley.

Oh perhaps I misunderstood, does this mean that the information on DNA testing and VWD on this page and other sources is incorrect then?

GuestHi,
Am I right in thinking then that KC DNA tests are only for ‘proving’ parentage (sounds like maury lol!!) and to get your dog health tested using DNA its done by some other people ? I’m sorry I am confused ?
When the results come back is there not a clear indication to the owner/breeder of what the test indicates and what this means for your dog ? and its so complicated a vet cant even tell you ? that doesnt sound right to me ! it seems mad paying money to be tested and then not even knowing ???
I would imagine Christine (Kerioak) tests and may also be someone who could help ??
