    Heyah guys,
i have not been around much and busy with my biggest boy.

Since the stroke he became virtualy…. bald  :-\ . His respons to the meds  ::) . No hairloss where his hairs short, but where he’s longhaired he shedded up to the creepy level  :scared: . First the undercoat flew out the window, than his deckcoat became reddish and finaly that went gone with the wind aswell  ….

It started almost without a trace. But a week or 2 befor his 13th birthday i carried him down the stairs. He fiddled cause he was argueing with Dies and suddenly i was loosing my grip. There were 2 solutions. 1 was letting him fall from top of the stairs or 2 grabbing him where i could.
Didn’t think about it and grabbed whatever i could get a hold on. One hand on his collarhair, the other his arse. Manage to get a good grip on him again,  and carried him further down the stairs. When i put him down i saw he had a huuuuge bald spot on his arse, a simular one on his neck and my hands looked like a yeti….
Since than it went down hill with his hair. I couldn’t touch him without him dropping huge entire parts of fur. And the long hair that remained became reddish in colour. So i had an almost orange bodied blackheaded and blackfooted groenendaeler.
I adjusted his vits and now it is all starting to grow back in reasonable good quantaties  .

But when his hair shedded so vigoriously he had the worst kind of dandruff i had ever seen. I soon found out that when entire parts of his hair fell out, the dandruff started and it itched. Every day there were new entire parts that just ‘detached’ themselves from his body accompanied by big dandruff flakes. So i started removing the dead parts of hair. And so that’s what i been doing every day for so long. Every night i comb him with a baby comb all over. Removing the loose hair, and flakes that are  there. And after a day of scratching….. since i remove it, he doesn’t scratch anymore.
But he a big dog, and a baby comb not so big, so it takes me hours infront of the tv to get it all done. Not that he minds  ::)  😀 . The wife even made him a coat as he is so cold so naked and with the snow and all. (but my Wodan wearing a coat  :suspious:…… he finds that thing absolutely  :death: , and rather shivers his arse off doing his busyness outside than wearing it.)
The parts where his hair is growing back is back to blacker than black, very dence and very soft like when he still had his puppyhair. And no sticky big dandruff flakes there, so now it’s kind of predictable with hair is yet going to go still as from one day to another those flakes will show up there and hair detaches itself. But he does look kind of puppy-ish now, cause his usually huuuuge collar, chesthair and trousers is now…. parts are either still gone, very short or grown to the length of puppy.  But it’s waaaaaay better than he looked for the past 2 months. And so far so good, if it continues to grow like it does now than i expect he’ll have his full coat back in a while.

There was a time i thought i would never ever really be able to see his skin. And now……  :'( . But i have to admit that petting him on bear skin and combing him all these days, when he looked sooooo bad, he was still so beautiful ….. it’s like bathing your newborn baby hahaha. (hey, we GOT to keep looking at it from the bright side right? After all, he’s still with me and vèry happy.  ;))

By the way…. Sorry Lassie, that’s why i didn’t post a pic of him with his birthday like you asked. Casue although he always remained beautiful to me, he looked aweful at the time  :-[ .

Pleased to read he’s back to black  :agree: it’s more common than you would think for meds to affect coats and skins.
Hope the lad grows his winter coat back real quick if you have snow

I know Izz  :-[ …. but it was almost as if he himself didn’t like going bald. It kind of hard to explain  :suspious: …. he went a little ‘appatic’ as we say here… uhm… uninterested, in just about everything, birds, food, Dies, everything. He became stiffer in the joints too. So i tried to turn him around by making him feel like my big favourite again.
See … have to admit, with the weather turning bad, and him loosing hair i was out with Diesel all the time leaving him inside. Think he feld.. left out or something.

Besides, i left something out too; when i almost dropped him, i injured my shoulder in a place i seriously hurted it before for the third time.
So Lassie is right. Alle he wanted was hanging out with me on the sofa being groomed and fed. Refused to eat if not hand fed. Had to kick his arse in gear again. As work was hard enough with the ice and cold. The pain didn’t make it any better for me either. So i couldn’t give him what he wanted all the time and spended loaaads of time with Dies alone during the days. At night i combed him for hours. And that resulted in 6 injections in my other shoulder  ::) . When it became a little less cold i dragged his arse out….. it worked  hahahaha. Now he back to chasing his ducks.  😉

But now my arms getting better, and he back on the front seat he eating and wants to come outside again all by himself.  😉
