Turning it off won’t effect the browser security settings.

Use EITHER Norton or Avast, not both…..you only need one anti virus, more than that conflict with each other.

I’ve got Avast anti Virus, Zone Alarm firewall & SUPERantispyware running on Vista, with no problems.

I’ll be back with a link to test your security in a minute.

    Oh….that’ll be it.
It’s supposed to stop malicious downloads, but it’s a bit over enthusiastic.
    It creates a fake registry.
I didn’t think of that as mine is already off…..I couldn’t upload to my own site with it on.
Try turning it off & rebooting.

Your security settings are set in your browser not in your A.V.

Tools…Internet Options…security……make sure the slider is set to medium high for the Internet.

I use Avast on both of my computers & have no problems ( uninstalled Norton as it uses a lot of resources)

You haven’t got your security set to high have you ??
The upload only works on a maximum setting of medium.
Also you have to allow cookies.

Please don’t use system restore to “fix” things.
If you do have a virus get on your system it will more than likely sit in your system restore ’til you run it…it will then infect your whole system.
If your Spyware prog is logging the fake alerts & deleting them, then they are on your system. (if they were online online only they wouldn’t make the log)

    I’ve found Rogue remover… http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php
To be the most effective removal tool around at the moment…it’s a free utility, just run it & follow the instructions.

Well done Sadie… ;D…lovely to see you both…& your hubby.
I was shattered last night & stiff as a board today.
But…it was all worth it….we took over £1000 on the day  :surprise:.

Sue the weather was great…not too hot, the Dogs weren’t stressed, but warm enough for everyone to lay on the grass & watch the classes.
We are so lucky to have been able to have the venue again…an event last w/e there was called off because the field had been too wet.

We’re going to start planning for next year (with obedience) very soon.

Thank You….can’t wait, the hard work is all done now.
We’ve just been & set up the rings & the hall all ready.
This year we are doing a scurry as well as the agility, so that should be a laugh.
I’ve got a few pics from your show…but will sort them out next week, when it’s all over. xx

Hi nice to “meet” you  🙂
Where abouts are you located ? I’m sure somebody will have some suggestions.
I belong to a GSD club & we get lots of Dogs coming to us with little or no “manners”, both of how to interact with Dogs & people.
We have enough instructors as to offer one to one instruction, away from the main group.
Also we have some “safe” Dogs that do not wind up the enthusiastic ones, so are a calming influence.
I’m sure there is similar in your area.
You sound like you’ve come a long way in 10 Months though.

:nono: You obviously haven’t ever done any research. The very first thing in proper research is to investigate what other research has been carried out. The results of that aren’t, as you mistakenly think, hearsay. Hearsay is when you say something that isn’t verifiable.

Where do you get the idea from that “Controlled research is carried out on perfect specimens”? Do show me a verifiable source. It’s simply not true.[/quote]

On the contrary..I have carried out umpteen research experiments. ( such a hard life being a swot)
Controlled research (which you mentioned) is always done on identical perfect specimens. The basis behind this is, any imperfections, illness, mental problems, weight loss /gain can then be attributed to be the result of the experiment….& not an ongoing condition.
You have to compare like with like to get a true, genuine, result.

Anyway, not sure what  you are trying to do here.
Are you trying to educate us (coz we iz ignorant) ?
    Sell something ?
Make us feel guilty for feeding our Dogs badly for all these years ?
Brush up your social skills ?
Brighten up our evenings with your witty banter ?
    Or something else………………..?

My 2 get very hyped up doing flyball in the garden…even my girl, who has no ball drive at all.
I’d hate to think how they’d behave with other Dogs in a similar frame of mind.

Chad has a ball on a rope….he’s not obsessed by it, but he loves a game of tug after good work.
I don’t use a lot of treats so his ball is his reward.
I’ve only just got him focussed enough to enjoy agility with him….6 months ago he was a nightmare rushing at equipment & leaping about. So I had 6 months off & hardly did anything with him.

Dogs mature at different rates…you may find in 6 months he’ll be like a different boy.

I find it fascinating that the replies are mainly along the lines of “what did dogs use to do?”. The simple answer – they died young. And, somewhere, if I could be bothered to find it, a controlled study was done which showed that feeding cooked, preprepared food allowed captive wolves to live longer.

Now, you may not like it. You may think “I’ve done this for years, so it’s all right”. Unfortunately, the facts show otherwise. It may have been all right for you. That may not be true tomorrow.

As for the people who think I’m close-minded. The opposite is true. The difference is that I’ve heavily researched this – not by relying on people who say I’ve fed this, or I’ve fed that – but by looking at hard, verifiable evidence.
You may not believe me but I do think that there is a place for some natural foods. Equally, I’ve found (and some of the replies here illustrate) that there are an awful lot of people who think what they are doing is correct but who turn a blind eye to those things they don’t wish to see. Because I’ve tried to keep this on an independent level I haven’t re-posted things I’ve found on forums where owners have told of their devastation at having their dogs die after changing to a raw food diet – and there are quite a few out there.

However, I know that the die-hards will live in their own world and not look at real evidence so there’s no point in continuing this discussion.

So you haven’t researched it at all have you ??  You are simply quoting the results of reasearch carried out by others (hearsay)
Controlled research is carried out on perfect specimens…of the same type, breed & age. Exercise & food is carefully monitored.
In the real world (where most of us live) there are other factors to take into account.

If you’re so into statistics what do you you make of the odds that most posters here would agree with you ?
Fact…most here are disagreeing & relating their experiences to back up their beliefs.

I’ve just waded through all of that, hoping for something interesting, to change my mind about how I feed my Dogs (didn’t find it)
I’ve fed all my Dogs RAW …that’s 31 years of ownership of the breed.
My Grandfather fed his a combination of raw & table scraps (as was the custom in the 50’s & 60’s) all his Dogs lived to a ripe old age.
This isn’t hearsay, this is fact…I was there, I saw it, I do it.
My vet supports the way I feed..my Dogs look well, are active & happy.
It isn’t a fad…I don’t follow rules or methods laid down by other…I use Common Sense .
