there are probably more about than we think – many of them get put down as collie / lab mixes or collie / shepherd mixes and maybe they are but  – 2 reasons because the word “lab” makes dogs instantly more appealable to most people and because not many people realise they come in black.  i looked after a black longcoated boy in rescue – no pic tho i’m afraid 🙁
