Vet called me with iceys results of lump, no real result really, could be from a trauma, foreign body or a tumour, he was saying about taking it off & sending it away for more testing as they may get a better chance of a result from testing/ looking art the lump, i am a bit nervous of this as shes old & has a high grade murmer. ???
[/quote]mmmmmmmm I would be concerned too Rose, the cardio specialist Dexter is under, says absolutley no knocking him out, cos of his heart condition, can they take some of the lump out under local anaesthetic?

Memberhow LIKELY does vet think it is to be anything that will cause a problem? as val said her layla had one that never gave her a problem. 😉 has it got bigger recently or something? if it was me i migth be thinking more along the lines of old Icey with heart murmur lump may never cause a problem leave it alone – unless they REALLY think it is likely to cause her a problem… don’t know if that’s any help. :-\
:-* to you and ice.

GuestIf it’s not bothering her don’t let it bother you, I would not put any dog under a GA unless it was serious especially an old lady like Ice.
Even if note the IF it was cancer she would be better living out her days with it, her heart may see her out before the cancer takes hold, and lets not foget the chances of it being the big C are low most doggy lumps are nothing

MemberIcey occassionally scratches at the area the lump is in but that may be where the vet clipped her to take sample from lump. Will try to talk to vet about what we will be doing asap. Won’t be putting her under a GA unless really necessary.
ok just spoke to vet & as lump not troubling icey we will leave it alone unless it grows alot larger or changes colour at-all. Let her enjoy her life she has .

GuestHi,
Just wanted to add that I think you made a good choice too.
Val is right 🙂 Also, in the remote possibility it was C – would you really put ice through any treatment?
Am sure she’ll tell you she’s got plenty of happy times left in her yet 🙂
