I don’t understand half of the posts on this forum. You’ll have to beare with me i’m really new to this and this is the first forum i have posted on. I’m oldish and only been using computer for 6months or so. I assume some of the reason I don’t understand is that you have sent PMs to each other, but could anyone tell me what all the abbreviations stand for. Then I may have some idea

General ones are things like HTH = hope that helps IMO = in my opinion

Hello Rona, not a problem, I am new to dogs and forums so I had to look up GSD to find German Shepherd Dog! Hehe!

Also some people’s user names may be abbreviated, we might sometimes use SP for Sweetypye for example, stick with it and keep asking if you don’t know, its a lovely forum and full of good advice!

kk = ok (yeah i know it makes no sense)

gsd = german shepherd
gwp/gsp = german wire/short (hair) pointer
bc = border collie
beardie = bearded collie
rough = rough collie (or “rough” the user!)
clumsey = clumber spaniel

also ppl who “know” each other use names instead of users sometimes

bev = kizkiznobite

they are the only 2 which stick in mind oh and ppl almost always call me claire (not piglet) i just sign with my real name (habit) – have to remember not to put the “x” on official e-mails haha !!!!!!

Brilliant thanks. I will have to refer back to this post quite often for a while. I’m ok with most dog breed abbreviations as been around dogs for ever, and that a long time in my case!

yep…i didnt forget that one… but rona is a newbie  ;D ;D and didnt want to shock and….

….and also…am in avoidance mode…as i am here and they are there and ami is IWAS mode and cubert is IGAP mode…and i don’t trust any of them…..and i am pray that Mo at this time does not do PGTFUE…..

interesting – i always thought IMHO meant in my humble opinion – doesn’t really matter tho cos both make sense  ;D

PMSL – Pee myself laughing (also I subsitute another word for Pee)  can also be WMSL (wet instead of pee)
