i use fly papers (old fashioned brown ones like grandma’s have) hung on a tree and they seem to a) work well and b) not catch bees 🙂
BUT dont leave them unguarded when you first put them out …. a hungry blue tit did get its wing stuck last year tho it was sensible and didnt struggle we unstuck it and it flew off happily 🙂
My mam made one last year with a 2litre pop bottle, cut the top off and place it upside down and tape it to the bottle then fill with a little bit of pop. They fly in but cant work out how to get back out. It was disgusting by the time it had done its job, full of flies and wasps yuk!
