::)  :help: I found a domestic buff coloured rat sniffing at my back door this afternoon…
Strange but true….It is a bit scared & ran into the corner of my patio under some pots .I’ve lured it out with some cheese but have been unable to catch it!
I’ve put a cardboard box with some shredded newspaper in it but I’m worried that the temperature has gone down & it will be freezing out there! I’ve no idea where it has come from …but as I was cooking my Xmas cake this afternoon it must have been lured by the smell
Has anyone any thoughts as to how I may humanely catch it…..
::) Fortunately Rio hasn’t sniffed it out YET!

Bait the trap with chocolate, not cheese.  :ok:

I caught one in a pint glass before lol. I forced it in to a corner and put the glass over it.

PMSL have just re read it :-[ oh well maybe not my  way then! 😀

If that the case put food in a bucket, make a ramp so rat can climb up and jump into bucket to get food, and it wont be able to get back out cos the sides are  too high & slippy ;D

Yes. Fill glass with Guiness. Drink Guinness. Attempt to catch rat. If unsuccessful, once again fill glass with Guiness. Drink Guinness. Attempt to catch rat. …Repeat as needed. With sufficient failure you will no longer care whether you catch the damn thing or not. Problem solved  8)
