My name is Jez and I am a 10 (ish) year old Staffordshire bull terrier. I am a very special Hope dog as I am one of the long term foster dogs. I am part of the sponsorship scheme and Hope Rescue stay responsible for all the costs associated with my care.
Due to circumstances out of the control of my foster family (who are very sad to see me go) I am looking for a brand new foster sofa to call my own.
I have something called Cushings disease which is a hormonal disorder affecting my pituitary gland. It means I need regular blood tests and will be on medication for life. The medication is controlling the symptoms so I am able to enjoy life to the full again. The Jez fact file
Dog status: Good out on walks and has lived with other dogs but ideally would like a home as the only dog
Cat status: May be workable
Child status: Good, could be rehomed with children over 6 years old
House training: Excellent
Hom alone: Happy to be left for short periods
Basic training: Knows all the basics and has good recall……will do anything for a ball!I have lived with other dogs before and I am friendly with most of the dogs I meet out on walks. However, if I were to imagine my absolutely ideal new foster home it would be just me, myself and I for canine company. I may be able to live with another quiet dog in the future (subject to my through vettting process of bum sniffing).
I love, love, love people and love affection and fuss. I am even on my best behaviour when we visit the vets because I love all the attention. I have been the star of the sponsor dog scheme if I do say so myself as I love going out to the meet and greets to see my adoring public.
Please do not let my medical condition put you off. My medication has it under control and I am just like any other normal dog.
I am always clean in the house and do not need too much exersise…..sometime I have to be pursuaded to go for a walk with the rest of the gang and I soon let them know when I have had enough and want to go home.
However, show me a ball and I will soon waken up. I love them. They come in all different guises, round, spherical, shiny, stinky, bouncy, hard. I don’t mind, if you have a ball I will be your friend! My current foster family say they think my ideal home would be with a white van man. I couldn’t agree more. I love being in the car and going on trips. I like sitting in the front seat with my special car harness on watching the world go by or I settle down for a snooze. The car means meeting new people and seeing new places which I also love.
Whilst I am happy to be left for short periods and will just snooze I would like a home where people ar around a lot. I am a nosey and social kind of guy.Jez, like all Hope dogs is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He will be rehomed as a long term foster dog meaning he will remain the responsibility of Hope Rescue and we will fund any costs associated with his care such as veterinary bills, flea and worm treatment etc. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from http://www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
