Hello all.
my name is simon, this is my very first post on this site so if this is in the wrong place im an sorry feel free to move it.I am in need of help/advice on what to do about my dogs..
I have a 1 year old Springer spaniel called Charlie, he is a loving dog , smart but very stubborn.
We recently Adopted another Dog, Sammi, a 2 year old Springer spaniel, she is amazing, well behaved/trained.The problem is jealously, Charlie is extremely jealous of Sammi, to the point of aggression towards sammi espically with FOOD, Charlie is not a nasty dog, but it scares myself and family to see charlie snap at Sammi, Sammi doesnt fight back, she runs and hides in shock, and if we tell charlie off sammi becomes so scared she wee’s in her basket.
I know it’s still early with the dogs as they have not got used to each other full yet, But How do we proceed??
we would like to be able to give bothdogs treats, but cannot.we had two dogs before and i cannot remember those two acting the same.
Any advice is much appreciated
Many many ThanksSimon Blakeman

We have had Charlie since a pup, 6weeks old and he is now 1.
we have had sammi for nearly 2weeks, ( I know thats not long)
both are neutured.
we try to always talk to Charlie first, try to reassure him he still our little man,
i understand it will take time , its just upsetting to see

I do not know if he’s allowed on the sofa but for now he should not be, also for now I would feed them seperatly, give Sammi time to settle as a bitch she will more than likely be top dog.
Charlie is only a pup and without balls so don’t let him behave badly put him out of the situation then you will not have the confrontation he thinks he is boss dog, when you should be.
To be honest no springer is trained in a year and you would of been better served to have waited to get another dog until he was at least two as Izzie can tell you they are not the easiest dogs to train their brain takes a bit of finding.

Simple management for feeding would have to be put into place, stop telling charlie off and stop reassuring him as you are reinforcing the problems.
How old when your lad was done? Where abouts are you based?
