MemberWell, it was a great morning at Brighthope Kennels seeing the pups and the adults. I’ll write more later but we’re off out for dinner so have to run. I’ll just start with a couple of pictures.
Sadie and 6 month old Reignor, who’s going to be a big boy!

MemberGracie, I never saw Sadie when she was a real puppy, but apparently she was almost all white when born. This is her when she was about 4 months:
She has become a lot darker but it’s not looking like that will continue.

The lovely Marne bringing J a present with little Allure toddling off
Marne again, she was in heat so she was kenneled when the boys came out
A very very tired mum. Nola, taking a break from her 10 little monsters. A lovely mum, she didn’t want Sadie, the stranger, near them but was very friendly with her when they were away from them

Only been here about 3 weeks but was settled in nicely. I think she’s about 4 months old. She has strong Picardy markings.

MemberThe Boys.
This is Ciron in the middle. He’s a magnificent beast, incredibly solid with a big head. Bit of a bull in a china shop, but I’ve learned that’s very common for the Blue boys. He had to be put away because with Marne in heat Ciron was ready to hump just about anything, including my dear virginal Sadie 😀 Only pic I got of him unfortunately.
6 month old Holland import Dapper. He’s a chunky monkey at the moment, been here 3 weeks as well. Again strong Picardy markings at the moment, long, bit snipey snout but matched the top of his head nicely
This is Reignor, 6 months old from their may litter. 1/2 brother to Sadie, same mum. Good looking boy, off to his first show today with his papa Suede. See the red on his ears? Picardy genes showing through, Sadie has red on her tail feathers.

It will be interesting to see this lad as he grows up, some lines of beardies shoot up to adult height in the first six months then stop dead and only fill out other grow as a package and most heads are never right until they are four.
My father had a saying with a good line in dogs ” Stick them in a draw and bring them out when they are four” it’s very true with some breeds
Val6 month old Holland import Dapper. He’s a chunky monkey at the moment, been here 3 weeks as well. Again strong Picardy markings at the moment, long, bit snipey snout but matched the top of his head nicely

MemberI’ll be watching closely as well Val. It’s hard to tell right now with him since he’s only been here a short time and I don’t know what he was eating before. He certainly didn’t feel “fat” he is just solid right now. He’s got a few inches in height to go yet so we might see him spread out that weight.
Sadies head is still changing. Personally I like the longer snout in a Blue. Hopefully he’ll make a good sire in the future as the Blues here in Canada definitely need an infusion of fresh blood. I’m glad that Vicki the breeder took the initiative and imported these 2.Question; do males “throw” their looks and attributes into their offspring more than females?
