MemberHi,
We have a Shiba Inu called Missy (more usually Missy Moo ‘cos she is a cow!! ;D ;D).
She lives quite happily with our pack of Siberian Huskies and is our guard dog. This is her with our 11 week old puppy

MemberHi Robbie,
She’s very confident and doesn’t seem to notice that the Sibes are twice her size – I think she believes she is an Akita. She holds her own easily.
She was incredibly affectionate as a puppy, then went through a stand-offish phase for just over a year, and is now back to being a serious cuddle-muffin, although she can be a bit aloof with strangers. We love the breed, but we’re a bit full up at the moment, so we’ll just make do with Missy.
I found some more photos of our “guard” dog:
Here she is guarding the sofa on behalf of our Anya and Alaska (one of the SHWA rescues)

and this is her guarding ………. the sofa again – keeping our boy Maverick safe.
and here she has got off the sofa to guard Kira (another SHWA rescue) on the grass.

The huskies are wonderful to live with (as long as you are prepared for constant vigilance – they can get up to a lot of mischief in a very short time) and we wouldn’t be without them.

MemberThey are double coated, so they do tend to lose their undercoat at least once each year.
