Sprocket is a 2 1/2 year old Collie x and is currently on foster in Coleford, Gloucestershire.

Sprocket is a lovely dog with a super personality. He has improved hugely in the short time he has been in his foster home. Initially he was very nervous about going out, was anxious about noises, and did not know how to play.

Now nearly 2 weeks on he walks well on the lead, responds to ‘walkies’ with excitement and generally walks well. If he hears a noise he does stay close but soon gets back to the walk. Sprocket will now go out in the garden without prompts but does prefer a bit of company.
Sprocket loves running around with neighbour’s dogs and we think he would learn from another dog particularly how to play. Therefore we would like Sprocket to go to a home where he has another dog to keep him company and help him overcome his fears.
Sprocket is looking for a home where someone is around for most of the day as he doesn’t really like to be on his own. He is not destructive when left. Sprocket has not spent much time with children so a home with no children or visiting children would be preferred.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from http://www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk

Also nervous of noises, but lots of things can be done to improve that and he sounds like he is coming on leaps and bounds.
Love his name too! Good luck Sprocket – hope your home comes along soon.

Dog status: Good, he would love a home with canine company
Cat status: Good, could be rehomed with a dog savvy cat
Child status: Has not spent time around children and is a timid dog so would be best rehomed where there are no children
Home alone: Does not like to be left and is looking for a home where someone is around for the best part of the day
House training: Good
Basic training: Sprocket has had to learn a lot in the time he has been in foster. He has learnt to go out on walks, respond to his name, be calm around loud noises…..the list is endless and all are skills other dogs can take for granted. He is an ongoing training project who is blossoming and changing all the time.May 21, 2011 at 3:11 pm #89282kilmouskMemberRehomed
