A bit of help please, What treats can I give willow when were training ? I have notice now and again she has a sloppy poo. Im putting this down to the treats im giving while we are training.
We give her chicken, hot dog sausages, cheese, mince. I alternate the treats to keep it intersting on different days and cut up into very small chunks.
We feed her natures diet approx 1 tub per day (as she weights about 7kg ish) mixed with some James wellbeloved kibble split up 4 x a day. Willow is 11 weeks old and very happy.
Are we doing things right or wrong :help:

July 31, 2009 at 4:25 pm #104104AnonymousGuestthanks lassie 🙂 we will change that.
what about the treats? ???
😉July 31, 2009 at 10:05 pm #104105.dodger.Memberthink you are suppose to use a pretty plain treat (like cheese) for the lowest criteria and as you increase criteria, increase the value of the treats too. For example i use cheese in the house, ham in the garden, chicken in the streets, hot dogs at the park and something like liver cake at the beach or woods.
Also make sure you cut the treats into the tiniest cubes/pieces, if they are big it will fill her up quickly and she’ll be less interested in working for the food.
July 31, 2009 at 10:15 pm #104106MudgieMemberyou are giving her tummy too many things to deal with – use one lot of food stuff as Dodger says until you move the training up a peg then up the reward. I would start with plain chicken but depends on what dog gets most excited for. Cream cheese on back of hand may be enough to start with at her age. Dont overdo it. Her tummy cant cope with the different foodstuffs. If you training her then dont feed as much you could even put the nature diet in kong and let her have a lick everytime she does what you want. ;D

Thanks guys, we will just stick to one treat food like you say see how she gets on. So far the training is going really well. :ok:

August 4, 2009 at 6:40 am #104113AnonymousGuestwe havent tried tripe yet, although everything she tries she likes her fave is chicken which we use in the house for training, we have now moved into the garden for training and use chicken there too. No upset tummy so think its a winner :ok:
