Was that on the telly – have a feeling I watched it yet have no idea what a puissance was – BUT was them jumping horses over some incredibly HIGH jumps that got higher until someone won  ???

    #68104

it was on tv over christmas 🙂

a puissance is were riders jump a single wall that is raised after each round, there are 7 rounds in total, if there are more than one rider who clears the wall after the 7th round then it is classed as a draw. if a horse dislodges a brick or knocks the wall down then they are taken out of the competition and only the riders that leave the wall standing go through to the next round

    hope that helps ;D

They dont show much showjumping anymore, wonder why, you’d think all these TV channels they’d could have one for each sport. We used to go to Hickstead, HOTY and Olympia all the time, but they are really expensive nowadays 🙁
