Hi all,
we’re still pretty new to this forum, we joined in april as we were worried about our gorgeous rottie roxy, sadly we lost roxy last month she was 9 years old. we still miss her everyday :'(.
We always wanted to get a puppy wen we had roxy but the last year of roxys life she wasnt very well so we wanted to consentrate on her, we had already decided on the breed im not sure why but iv always loved the breed they are just beautiful…so in a few weeks we pick up our new golden retriever puppy. On saturday we have our 1st visit to see the puppies, they will be 3 weeks old 2moro. The breeder came highly recommended and she updates her website with pics of the puppies every week. They are so cute…
So i guess heres wer the questions come
1) does anyone have any knowledge of this breed? we have read books and things but would greatly appreciate any help from u guys.
2)Has anyone decided to crate train there puppies?
3) I think the breeder will tell us this im not sure so il ask u guys… When is puppies vaccinations?
4)How do u guys toilet train ur puppies? ru using the training mats?
we pick her up just before she turns 8 weeks, we get her on the saturday and she will be 8 weeks on the following tuesday. so will she have 1 set of vaccinations b4 we get her? then whens the next set? And after this when can she go out for walk?
God so many questions… i feel like a brand new dog owner i cant remeber how to toilet train etc.. lol
Thanks in advance
look forward to all ur advice
Gem ;D

Don’t use paper or training pads, just take the pup out after food, play, sleep etc when he/she goes then lots of praise and fuss. Is on here somewhere but brain not working very well ::) one of the others may find the right thread for you.June 8, 2009 at 9:01 pm #103892*Lassie*MemberVacs are done from 9 – 10 weeks then again 2 weeks later if I remember correctly.
Val is the breed expert, if you put up the affix or PM it to her, has the pups parents been hip scored?By the way you do realise goldies are chewers and are slow to grow up, fun at 8 weeks a handful when older ;D ;D
