We’ll be at Newark next weekend – you coming, Mudge?

[emma_pen]

Alfie went back to vet school today – update available on his blog:

He’ll be coming to flyball training tomorrow (only as a spectator of course!) so you can meet him if you like!

I missed yesterday as I had other plans. Pixi is my friends Beagle and a sweetie. I am glad you’ll be coming on a Thursday, Nacho sounds like a great flyball dog and sure he’ll be on the team pretty soon! I love his name too! See you tomorrow if you go – and hope for no rain! I’ll be in class after you (8-9) with Elliot if you want to see him run. Elliot used to run through the netting every time when we first started – he’s over enthusiastic  😀

Dodger is a complete natural  ;D

[emma_pen]

Oh yes of course I understand I may have even had the same viewpoint at one stage in the past but a few cases have certainly changed it for me. Alfie is just as deserving of having the chance to live a normal life as any other puppy and I certainly wasn’t going to put him to sleep without giving him this chance.

Yes this is the same Alfie who needed heart surgery etc, which was done 2 weeks ago. He is 5 months old now and doing well.

[emma_pen]

Well we raised the money needed and Alfie had his surgery 2 weeks ago, it was a first time case & op for the vets involved and so far so good he’s doing well.

I completely understand those that might think the money is not worth spending on one rescue dog, but I have no regrets and certainly a lot of people wanted to help – 100% of the money raised was given specifically for him in his own fund, so every donator wanted to help him. I firmly live by the saying “saving one dog may not change the world, but it certainly changes the world for that one dog”  ;D

That’s great! Were you at NESSR Saturday or Sunday? I don’t think I saw you!

[emma_pen]

I’ll still be there on a Tuesday too, so see you there – I am helping out as well as trying my friends Beagle at it.

Elliot is very fit  ;D thank you!

Ginger is doing really well, and is reserved pending homecheck this week – hopefully going to be a pub dog  ;D

[emma_pen]

Both the fastest dogs on our current top team are crossbreeds – Elliot is a bull lurcher and Bracken is a Lab/Collie. We are loving it!

[emma_pen]

Are we going to see you on our new Flyball starters course next week? I hope so!
