To be honest id avoid the furminator – am sick of seeing dogs who have had it used on them without proper instruction – is all very well them selling it BUT someone uses it for their lab – brilliant cos it works, they tell their friend with a shih tzu – and the coat gets ripped out by the root……….

i know exactly where you are coming from, i only recomend it to dogs that hav an under coate. would mever use it on my lot, as ther dont have a proper under coat.

its not so much seeing her visually skinnier than the others, she is smaller than Inca in hight and has a slimmer frame.

it just when you feel her, i feel her ribs more than on the other two, but they don’t stick out as if she is massively under weight or malnourished.

she lost weight after her first stint in kennels for 5 days, as she didn’t eat much, i think she gets stressed in kennels, as she was in for the second time when we went to crufts but only for two night and although she At fine this time  she was still a bit quiet and a little shy.(the other two ran about like nuters when out in the grass run)

any way after she lost that weight i have never been able to put it back on her and that was about a year and a half ago.  but in saying that the vet has never said that she thinks she is to thin.

i think i might just be over worrying, for the past two years since getting the girls i have been concerned about them getting fat, and now i have switched to the polar polar opposite, i am now concerned about them being to skinny.

she is up to a pound of meat a day, a verity of different meets, tripe is he fave. then either ribs, wings neck or backs

i did try upping it more but she is not a greedy dog and will eat her fill, and leave the extra.

im not overly concerned, as she is still running about and play, i think it just me, or maybe it my mum that has put it in my head.

is it possibly she just has a high metabolism, i know some people like that, doesn’t matter what they eat they don’t put on a stone.

just waiting to know if anyone had heard off this stuff and if it was any good.

WSCDTA is West of Scotland Community Dog Training Association  🙂
    [/quote]

if i remember correctly he qualified in 2006 and has had dogs all his life, the original club where he was a trainer, was one he had been attending for many years before his qualified as a trainer, then set up his own dog training school last year.
he is also on the Scottish Canine Consultative Council who advise on laws and policy that relate to dogs at all levels of government from local community councils right up to the Scotish Parliment and was involved with the proposed ammendments to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1997. and also instumental in setting up The Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

very lovely man, and very good at helping problem dogs  ;D

sorry dodger for hijacking you thread

ooo that sounds good, i eventually got to watch the rogue traders, and like you lot said it wasn’t that well made. the conversation when presenters where watching the under cover people, felt scripted and almost like they were taking the Mick.

looking forward to this hadn’t hared about it.

not wanting to worry you but i would keep an eye on the hare loss on his nose as last year my friends labX started loosing hare on his nose and it then started to go red then started bleeding, turns out he had bee sniffing in an aria his owners hadn’t realized was recently sprayed with a pesticides or weed killer and that is what caused it.

now another friend with a lab has experienced the same thing but it appears to be more serious. i have photos of both dogs .

if you are worried about his eye you could try optrax eye drops, its the same stuff my friend fro proscribed for her doberman, and its cheaper than getting it from the vets.

is the eye actually bothering him or is it just you who is getting concerned about it.

from what im aware it is OK to give your dog piroton(i think that a hayfeaver medication, never used it myself so dont know)

thanks we have jumpers from Equafleece, we got them at crufts last year and they are good, but i don’t find they are as thick as Hot and Husky.
Inca jumped in the canal waring the Hot and Husky one and came out with her torso bone dry, so i am very impressed with them, but we only have two.

we will probably pick up more Equafleece when we are at crufts.
but i thought i would mention Hot and Husky on hear on the off chance someone know about them.
