kendalMemberdad was an apricot and white poodle mum was the chocolate roan cocker.
Gypsy and Inca have the same dad and he is Echo’s grandad.
kendalMemberwould be lovely to walk with you. please fell free tonpop up photos and tailes of your walks. we are planning on doing Ben lomond again as training for nevis. ;D
kendalMemberi use them because my dog pull when walked together, and they hated the head hallti.
we tried it on or neck before they went near our two and thought we would try them. the girls made no fuss and walked beautifully with them on, no whining or hacking/choking and no heavy panting. for us it just seemed like the perfect choice.
the girls get exited if i pick them up as they know it is walk time(where as with the haulti they ran a mile)if the dog is alowed to pull constantly into the collar it has no effect, best thing to do is if they pull when walking let out some slack and stop the dog corrects its self and chooses not to pull. its not pain, just discomfort if they pull.
can i ask where the one you tried was from as ours were from the US and are rounded so as not to hurt the dog.
for the chicken i first held Gypsy muzzle and popped the treat on her nose and told her to stay and leave (you could start it off on you knee or something so the dog is used to looking at the treat but not touching it till you say) then you gradually let go and hope the dog keeps its head still. then use a releases command like ‘OK’ or ‘GET IT’ and they wil either drop their nose so the treat falls to the floor or flick it up in the air and catch it. so much fun
kendalMembermy girls have them. they are not as bad a they look, infact no where near. but everyone is intitled to there own opinion.
kendalMemberyeah a few of the dogs on the Ben Lomond walk had prongs on.
the balancing chicken on the nose was a big thing for me as mum said that what she could do with her two cockers so i was determined to i would do it with the girls. Gypsy picked up really quick but Inca took forever lol but she is just like that anyway, she took the longest to toilet train where as gypsy was good after a couple of days.
kendalMemberboth our girls were winter pups so i have always had to walk them at night some of the time. but i have to put a i viz vest on Inca and a blinking light or i would never see her. get yourself a buddy to walk with at night if you dont want to walk on your own, i know i dont.
i think it exposes them to different things, as everything sounds and looks different at night, shadows are more prominent.

Hello from me (Lisa) and my Westie Floyd.
You have lovely dogs and great photo’s.
I’m so jealous of the walks you have done – I’d love to get involved with something like that.
you should definitely do it, it is such a phab feeling to reach the top.
thats what we are trying to do with the forum, we want to get people from allover to get out and enjoy the beautiful country they live in and the mountains around them. even better if you can raise money doing it.
kendalMemberyeah thought that was hilarious when she did that.
love the last one too its one of my mums faves.
sorry but have to post this i haven’t done any agility with Gypsy for months, i have just watched this video with her and i really need to get back into it.
Don’t suppose it was off a cliff Nick. 😮
lol the guy stood on a small bolder and it shifter under his weight causing him to fall and role a wee bit. it was just a bit of bruising and a bruised ego. but a first we were panicking as he was finding it hard to breath, we thought he had cracked a rib. but that passed but we all discussed what to do and whither or not we should all turn back or some keep going
when he got home he refused to go the the hospital till latter the next day when he was forced by some of us, just to give him a once over. but luckily no serious damage was done.

Watched your video too, really great :agree:Did everyone have their dogs on leash so they could be pulled up?
lol yeah some people needed a bit of a pull.
alot of is was off lead but there were parts with sheep and we had a farmer pass us twice so it was just good manners to keep them on lead some of the time.
my to dont tend to bother when we are on a walk like that. but on the odd occasion they get a sudden burst of energy and run about mad.love that video, Paul picked the music just right(i still get teary eyed as we reach the top), he also made it into a DVD for us and anyone at the training or in our family who wanted one, it had stuff from the campsite that night and other funny things that happened. and sold them so we could add more to the dogs trust money.
we kept a wee bit aside for the training so we could by a kinda sat-nav thing for walkers for our other big walks.
kendalMemberyeah Ben Lomond we did to raise money for the dogs trust, cant remember how much we raised.
When we did Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers one of the guys felll and hurt himself so some of the group turnd back. so we didnt all make it up to the top :boooo:

Hello, lots of photos is just fine. ;D Which Munros have you climbed? 🙂
i have climbed Ben Lomond. then did Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers in the same day. me and some others from my dog school have our eyes now set on Nevus. we were meant to do it this year but the weather would have made it dangerous on the day we had arranged for everyone to go.
Ben Lomond was the first I did – been up the other 2 as well. 🙂 Brilliant feeling isn’t it? ;D Only problem is when it’s all misty and you don’t get the view. >:(
oh we were so luck the weather was stunning for all three
