tweedetteMemberI hope not, I could never understand why he re created such a neast, i said to him once, Why would you recreate a dog that has no place in modern society and appeals to the very people you say you dislike so much?.
I have heard tales of them no being of sound temprement, and know of at least one instance where they have killed other dogs, isolated maybe, but i dont know how many actually exist, I heard that one guy has two and said they are very good with children, in my opinion I certainly wouldnt trrust them with children, they onlty have to turn once on a small child and its curtains – so Yes I know a bit, but no I have no interest in them whatsoever.

tweedetteMemberIts great – I count myself very lucky, but its hard work , 7 days a week, 365 days a year, cant leave the premises unattended for a period of more than a few hours(not that we ever do anyway). always open for inspection, so everything must be 100% all the time (well unless you are in the middle of cleaning out)its also a chinese laindry washing doggy blankets, but its very rewarding, not particularly financially but as for job satisfaction you cant beat it, that and being right next to the beaches and sea.

What do you mean by breeding kennels????
where can i find info on setting up breeding kennels???, ive been on net but no joy.
;D 😉

I run a breeding kennels – and no I’m not proud of the stigma it portrays, because it lumps me in with puppy farmers, and if that were the case I’d give up.Still its the same rules and regulations that applies.
You are best to get information on setting up any kennels from your local council because all councils have different rules. Ours here says you need a breeders licence if you breed 2 or more litters a year, still if its in the interest of animal welfare, then its no bad thing.
I also run a boarding kennels and cattery, infact the only one on the southern Isles of the Hebrides, so we are usually very busy again strict rules and regulations apply in order to get licenced. Its not that easy and very expensive to run (I’ wont fed cheap food)my dogs wont eat rubbish so I dont expect visitors to eat it either. Its very difficult as I get my food shipped over form the mainland in tonne loads a pallet costs me almost £100 delivery plus the cost of food which is somewhere in the region of £600 a month. then you have rates, electricity, disinfectant, medicines, wormers inoculations – and loads more hidden cost so its not cheap to run (if its done correctly).
I also buy treats, roasted bones 250 a month pigs ears 500 a month, hide chews 200 a month, no wonder I’m always skint!!
still its rewarding, youget to know your clients or more important their dogs , so its a wonderful job , and on the breeding side I’m running an improvement programme for the plummer terriers – to date I have never advertised a pup , and thats after 8 yrs, if the day comes that I have to and it all comes down to rearing pups to earn a living – I’ll give up the breeding side.still, i do take a dim view that my licence is the same as a pupy farmers licence, i think in this day and age specialist breeders should have a licence corresponding to what they do – so we dont get mistaken for looking at our dogs as a cash crop when thats the furthest thing from my mind.
